Uttarakhand’s girls have brought glory to the state by winning medals in the Khelo India Sub-Junior Pencak Silat League. The Khelo India Sub-Junior National Pencak Silat Women’s League 2025 was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and the Sports Authority of India from April 10-12, 2025, at the Dr. B.R. Yadav Indoor Sports Stadium in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
The competition’s chief guest, Amar Agrawal, MLA Bilaspur and former Cabinet Minister of the Government of Chhattisgarh, and special guest, Pooja Vidani, Mayor of Bilaspur, were present at the event. Bablu Diwaker, Chief Coach and General Secretary of the Pencak Silat Association of Uttarakhand, said that the 12-member team from Uttarakhand participated in the league and showcased exceptional performance.
*Medal Winners:*
– *Gold Medal:* Aradhya Chauhan, Mishita Rao, and Nandini Deo won gold in the Team Regu event. Pinky won gold in the Fighting event, and Riddhi also won gold.
– *Silver Medal:* Ridhvika won silver in the Fighting event.
– *Bronze Medal:* Preesha Singh won bronze.
With 3 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal, Uttarakhand secured third place in the overall competition, which saw participation from over 250 female athletes from across India.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and the Sports Authority of India will provide cash prizes to the medal winners:
– *Gold Medal:* ₹10,000
– *Silver Medal:* ₹8,000
– *Bronze Medal:* ₹6,000
The Pencak Silat Association of Uttarakhand is preparing to give a grand welcome to the players upon their return to the state.
