Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Rudrapur on July 19 for the much-anticipated ‘Nivesh Utsav’ at Manoj Sarkar Stadium, security arrangements have reached their final stage. On Thursday, Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth personally conducted a high-level debriefing session with all senior police officials involved in the event’s security planning.

The crucial briefing, held at the multipurpose hall of the stadium, witnessed participation from top officials including ADG Law and Order Dr. V. Murugesan, ADG AP Anshuman, IG Kumaon Ridhim Aggarwal, and IG Intelligence Karan Singh Nagnyal. They presented a comprehensive outline of the security blueprint to officers deployed across various segments of the venue and the city.

The plan includes tight police deployment, traffic regulation, crowd control mechanisms, area-specific security details, and emergency response protocols. “We aim for a flawless security cover during the Union Home Minister’s visit. All teams must coordinate seamlessly to avoid even the smallest lapse,” said DGP Setth during the session at Rudrapur Police Lines.

ADG Murugesan elaborated on sensitive points and urged all personnel to stay vigilant, especially during entry and exit movements at the venue. Officials also brainstormed possible threats and contingency plans to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.

Senior Superintendent of Police Udham Singh Nagar Manikant Mishra, along with other senior officials and field personnel, was present during the review meeting. Each officer was assigned specific duties, with clear instructions on maintaining communication and coordination throughout the event.

The security and logistics strategy focuses on VIP movement, maintaining law and order, ensuring smooth vehicular flow, and managing public access to the stadium. The deployment plan for the VVIP event includes 6 Superintendents of Police, 6 Additional Superintendents, 15 Deputy SPs, 32 Inspectors, 199 Sub-Inspectors and ASIs, 31 Women Sub-Inspectors, and over 600 constables and head constables. Three companies and two sections of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have also been stationed.

“All necessary steps are in place to ensure the safety of the Union Home Minister and all attendees. We are fully prepared for any situation and committed to delivering a safe and smooth experience to every participant,” said IG Kumaon Ridhim Aggarwal.
