Additionally, the videography of Kanwar pilgrims will be conducted for security purposes.

DIG Kumaon, Yogendra Singh Rawat, said, “We have decided to prepare all arrangements through mutual coordination.” He also mentioned that WhatsApp groups would be created at the local level to facilitate communication, with mobile numbers of officers and policemen shared among the groups.

The District Magistrate of Rampur, SPs from Rampur, Bijnor, and Kashipur, along with other key officials, were present at the meeting. SSP Udham Singh Nagar, Manjunath TC, highlighted the district’s sensitivity during the Kanwar Yatra and stressed the need for meticulous planning.

Heavy vehicle movement will be completely halted in the district from Saturday onwards to ensure the safety of Kanwariyas. Security forces, including the district police, PAC, Home Guard, and PRD personnel, will be deployed on the Kanwar route. Departments such as Energy Corporation, Water Institute, and PWD have been instructed to provide necessary facilities to the pilgrims”, said SSP Manjunath.
