Himalay Harbinger, Rudrapur Bureau. A female student from Darapur Madarpur village in Thakurdwara was hospitalized in critical condition after allegedly consuming poison due to harassment by her teacher. The incident took place at a private nursing home in Jaspur.
Yamin Malik, a teacher at a local training center, is accused of sending obscene messages to the student over a prolonged period. Fearing defamation, the student kept silent about the harassment, which reportedly emboldened Malik. The situation escalated when the student received another series of inappropriate messages from Malik on her mobile phone, leading her to a state of shock. Unable to cope, she consumed poison.
The family rushed her to a private hospital, where she regained consciousness and disclosed the harassment to them. Following this, the student’s family confronted the training center’s director, who immediately terminated Malik’s employment.
The student’s brother then lodged a formal complaint at the Thakurdwara police station, accusing Malik of molestation and sending obscene messages. Station House Officer (SHO) of Thakurdwara, said, “We have registered a case against the accused and taken him into custody. He has been sent to judicial custody pending further investigation.”
