Man held from Chennai for abusing and threatening the SSP on social media

Abhishek Mishra, a 35-year-old resident of Pantnagar in Udham Singh Nagar district, has been detained by Pantnagar Police for allegedly abusing and threatening the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udham Singh Nagar and several others including his father on social media. Mishra, a habitual offender with multiple cases against him in different states, was arrested from Chennai on Sunday. Mishra had also claimed to have links with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Fed up with his son’s behavior, Mishra’s father, Ramnath Mishra, approached SSP Udham Singh Nagar, Manjunath TC, a few days back, requesting legal action against his son. In response, the SSP directed the Pantnagar police to take action. Following these orders, Pantnagar Police registered a case against Abhishek Mishra and initiated proceedings.

Mishra, who had been hiding in Chennai, continued to make threats and use offensive language on social media even after the case was registered. The Pantnagar Police, in coordination with the Chennai Police, tracked him down and brought him back to Rudrapur.

SSP Manjunath TC said, “The youth is a drug addict and is also mentally ill. After a case was registered against him based on his father’s complaint, he abused me and used indecent language on Facebook Live. Another case was subsequently registered against him.” The SSP added, “He also has a criminal record in Bareilly of Uttar Pradesh, where he abused and misbehaved with doctor who treated him and a case was filed in Bareilly against him. Following this, he abused the SSP Bareilly through Facebook, leading to further legal action.” SSP Manjunath added that Mishra was hiding in Chennai while he acted to be in Dubai while his facebook live sessions.

Mishra has a criminal history involving multiple FIRs under various sections of the law, including section 352/351(4) – intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of the peace and criminal intimidation at Subhash Nagar Police Station in Bareilly, Section BNS 352/351(1)(2) at Pantnagar Police Station, Section IT Act 67 – Publishing Obscene Material in Electronic Form and 351(2)/352 – Criminal Intimidation at Pantnagar Police Station).

Pantnagar Police have detained Mishra and are conducting further investigations which includes his claim of having connection with gangster Bishnoi.
