Igniting Young Minds: One-Day Seminar at Government PG College, Ranikhet Showcases M.Sc. Chemistry Talent*

Ranikhet: In a bid to foster academic excellence and research skills, the Department of Chemistry at Government PG College, Ranikhet, organized a vibrant one-day seminar for M.Sc. students. The event provided a platform for students to present their research and ideas, sparking intellectual discussions and showcasing their academic prowess.

 

The seminar featured a diverse range of topics presented by the students, which were critically evaluated by an expert panel. The judging panel, comprising Dr. Tanuja Tiwari, Dr. Niharika, and Dr. Sheetal Chauhan, selected the top performers. In the M.Sc. 1st semester category, Divya Aswal secured the 1st position, while Bhaskar Satyawali took 2nd place. Among M.Sc. 3rd semester students, Pooja Bisht claimed 1st place, and Divya Kaira achieved 2nd.

 

The college principal, in his address during the prize distribution ceremony, praised the students’ efforts and remarked, “Events like this are pivotal to the overall growth of students. They not only enhance their knowledge but also build self-confidence, preparing them for future academic challenges.”

 

Dr. Prasoon Joshi, Head of the Chemistry Department, extended his gratitude to the faculty and students for their participation. “These academic activities develop research and communication skills among students. We must continue organizing such events to create more learning opportunities,” he noted.

 

Program Coordinator Dr. Reema Priyadarshi, in her closing remarks, thanked all the participants and organizers, stating, “This seminar provided a significant platform for students to exhibit their dedication and talent.”

 

Dr. Hemlata Bhatt and Dr. Rashmi Rautela played key roles in the event’s smooth execution. Dr. Bharat Pandey, Coordinator of the Science Popularisation Cell, also emphasized the importance of such seminars. He said, “These activities encourage curiosity and a scientific mindset in students, driving them towards new research avenues.”

 

The successful seminar was a collaborative effort by the faculty and students, leaving everyone enriched by the academic experience and inspired to continue exploring the world of research.
