A video of Dr. Anchal Dhingra, a resident of Alliance Colony and owner of Guru Naa dental clinic in civil lines in Rudrapur, firing a licensed pistol into the air on Diwali night has gone viral on social media, prompting legal action. The incident reportedly took place at Kartarpur Farm House under the Gadarpur Police Station jurisdiction area.
Rudrapur City police station SHO, Manoj Raturi said in his report, “During the investigation, the woman in the viral video was identified as Dr. Anchal Dhingra, who operates a private hospital in Civil Lines, Rudrapur.” Following this confirmation, a case was registered against Dr. Dhingra under Sections 27(1) and 30 of the Arms Act.
“Firing of this nature is a punishable offense, and strict action will be taken under the law,” added Raturi. He confirmed that the incident details have been logged in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) office of Rudrapur Kotwali.
Under the leadership of SSP Manikant Mishra, Rudrapur Police have intensified their crackdown on celebratory gunfire, registering cases against four individuals recently for similar acts displayed on social media.
