Rudrapur: Nearly three decades after Udham Singh Nagar became a district, construction has begun on a modern circuit house in Rudrapur. This project, launched on the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, will be built at a cost of Rs 36 crore and aims to provide adequate facilities for the Chief Minister, VIPs, and officials during their visits. The circuit house is set for completion by July next year.
Currently, the district lacks a designated circuit house, with accommodations for high-profile guests arranged in local hotels. Acknowledging this need, CM Dhami instructed District Magistrate Udayraj Singh to identify suitable land for construction. A 10,650-square-meter plot adjacent to the Yuva Bhawan, opposite the Sports Stadium, was selected, with the Peyjal Nirmaan Nigam overseeing the project. A Dehradun-based firm was chosen to carry out the work.
Assistant Engineer Subhash Bhatt said, “The ground floor will include eight single rooms with a capacity for 70 people, a press meet hall, dining area, waiting room, and a manager’s office.” The upper floors will house eight VIP double suites, two VVIP suites, and a CM suite, with parking also available.
DM Singh said, “This circuit house will be modern and unique, offering amenities superior to those in other districts. The implementing agency has been instructed to maintain quality while speeding up construction.”
