Farmer organizations are going to gather at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi today regarding their demands. Recently, Delhi Police has given permission to United Kisan Morcha to organize Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat at Ramlila Maidan with strict conditions. Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has said that they will organize Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat at Ramlila Maidan, where a resolution will be passed to intensify the fight against the government’s policies.
Permission granted with these conditions
Delhi Police has given permission to farmer organizations for Mahapanchayat but with heavy conditions. Delhi Police has imposed conditions on farmers not to gather more than 5,000, not to bring tractors, not to hold any march in Ramlila Maidan. Farmers have been asked to vacate the grounds right after the Mahapanchayat ends at 2.30 pm.
Heavy security arrangements
Delhi Police officials have said that in view of the Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat, extensive security arrangements have been made. In view of the farmers’ march, heavy deployment of security forces has been made on the three borders of Delhi, Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) M Harsh Vardhan has said that farmers have been allowed to organize mahapanchayats with a maximum of 5,000 people.
