Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Police, under its ongoing campaign to apprehend rewarded criminals, achieved a significant breakthrough with the arrest of Jagmohan Singh, a fraudster carrying a bounty of ₹25,000. Jagmohan was apprehended from the Amritsar region of Punjab through a joint operation by the state’s Special Task Force (STF) and Lohaghat Police.

Jagmohan had been evading arrest for several years and was wanted in multiple cases of cheating and fraud registered in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. In 2018, he allegedly operated a fake finance company named Kim Future Vision Services Limited in Uttarakhand’s Champawat district. The company lured investors by promising to double their money, eventually defrauding them of lakhs of rupees.

One of the victims, Lokmani Joshi, lodged a complaint at Lohaghat Police Station, leading to an investigation that revealed Jagmohan’s fraudulent activities. However, by the time the complaint was filed, Jagmohan had absconded. Subsequently, the court declared him a fugitive and announced a reward of ₹25,000 for his capture.

The STF, under the supervision of CO STF R.B. Chamola and the direction of SSP STF Navneet Bhullar, recently received a tip-off regarding Jagmohan’s whereabouts. Acting swiftly, a team was dispatched to Amritsar, where he was apprehended. Jagmohan has since been brought to Uttarakhand on transit remand for further legal proceedings at Lohaghat Police Station.

“Criminals who exploit innocent people will not be spared. Our efforts to bring rewarded offenders to justice will continue with the same intensity,” said SSP STF Navneet Bhullar.

Cases of fraud and cheating are registered against Jagmohan Singh in several locations, including Lohaghat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand, as well as Ambala in Haryana and Basti in Uttar Pradesh.

The operation involved coordinated efforts from STF officers Inspector M.P. Singh, Sub-Inspector Brijbhushan Gurrani, Assistant Sub-Inspector Prakash Bhagat, Head Constable Jagpal Singh, Constable Gurwant Singh, and Lohaghat Police officials Inspector Ashok Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Prasad, and Head Constable Wazir Chand.
