In a recent statement, Bachchan refuted claims of angioplasty, affirming his robust stance against health rumors. His journey of resilience dates back to 1982 when he encountered a near-fatal injury while filming “Coolie,” plunging into a coma and defying the odds of survival. Reflecting on this ordeal in an interview with Simi Garewal, he recounted, “I was in a coma… it was the end of that surgery where I couldn’t come out of anaesthesia for 12-14 hours.”
In 2000, Bachchan confronted Hepatitis B diagnosis, a revelation that his liver was infected, leaving him with only 25% functionality. This monumental health setback did not deter his spirit as he continued to grace the silver screen with his iconic performances.
