The Judo competitions at the 38th National Games continued to captivate audiences on Day 2, with thrilling bouts and outstanding performances across multiple weight categories.
In the -63 kg girls’ event, Unnati Sharma from Uttarakhand showcased her skill and determination, clinching the gold medal. Himanshi Tokas from Madhya Pradesh put up a strong fight but settled for silver. The bronze medals were awarded to Talha Fayaz from Jammu and Kashmir and Irengbam Kalpana Devi from Manipur, both demonstrating commendable talent throughout the competition.
The -81 kg men’s category saw Harshpreet Singh from Punjab dominate his matches to secure the gold medal. Narender from Haryana claimed the silver, while Abhishek Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh and Akash Raj both earned bronze medals, rounding out a competitive field.
In the -70 kg women’s division, Garima Chaudhary from Haryana emerged victorious, taking home the gold medal. Takhellambam Inunganbi from Himachal Pradesh earned silver, and the bronze medals were claimed by Monika Hooda and Devikrishna V S from Haryana and Kerala, respectively.
The day concluded with the -90 kg men’s event, where Bharam Kumar Vats from Madhya Pradesh captured the gold medal. Ajay Kumar from SSCB secured the silver, while Ningthoujam Sheetal from Manipur and Rajat Singh Chib from Jammu and Kashmir both earned bronze medals.
