Over 20L Voters To Decide Fate in Nainital Parliamentary Elections

The final list of voters for the general elections for the Nainital parliamentary seat has been unveiled, revealing a significant electorate of 20,26438 across 14 assembly seats spanning both districts. On March 27, the Sub District Election Offices of Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital released the conclusive voter roster, comprising 10,57189 male and 9,69194 female voters, along with 55 transgender voters.

 

Assistant District Election Officer Vijay Tiwari said, “In Udham Singh Nagar district’s nine assembly seats, the total voter count stands at 13,43520, with 699,783 males, 6,43697 females, and 40 transgender individuals.” He further said, “In the five assembly seats of Nainital, there are 6,82918 voters, including 3,57406 males, 3,25497 females, and 15 transgender voters.”

District Election Officer Uday Raj Singh articulated the administration’s target of achieving at least an 85 percent voter turnout. He said, “Voting assistance for the elderly and disabled will commence on April 8. Individuals above 85 years of age and those with disabilities will have the option to vote from home using paper ballots.” Singh elaborated, “Polling teams are being assembled to facilitate their participation, going door-to-door to ensure their ballots are cast securely.” The preparations for the elections are in full swing under the administration’s supervision.
