Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav took a swipe at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after he was seen taking blessings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi by touching his feet when the duo shared a stage at Nawada.

Tejashwi said he was ashamed when he saw the picture.

“Today I saw a picture of Nitish Kumar where he touched the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi… We felt ashamed… What has happened? Nitish Kumar is our guardian… There is no other Chief Minister as experienced as Nitish Kumar and he is touching the feet of Prime Minister Modi,” the RJD leader said.

A video from the poll rally, which is being widely shared, shows the Bihar Chief Minister touching PM Modi’s feet after he concluded his speech.

Meanwhile, the Bihar Chief Minister was trolled on social media for asserting that the NDA would win “more than 4,000 seats” in the Lok Sabha elections.

A video from the rally shows Nitish Kumar saying “char lakh (four lakh)” before correcting himself and saying “char hazaar se bhi zyada (more than 4,000)”, while turning towards the PM, who has been aiming for “400 plus tally” in the elections.

The RJD was quick to react to the gaffe.

“The chief minister seemed to initially wish for more than four lakh MPs to the PM. Then he probably thought it would be too much and 4,000 would be sufficient,” RJD spokesperson Sarika Paswan wrote on X.

Nitish Kumar, who was Chief Minister under the Janata Dal (United)-RJD alliance, had snapped ties with the RJD in January and joined hands with the BJP to return to power as an NDA Chief Minister again.
