The Department of Livestock Production Management, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, organized the first National Goat Day sponsored by the Central Institute for Research on Goats, Mathura (under ICAR, New Delhi). On this occasion, 70 goat farmers from the Sitarganj region received one-day scientific training in goat rearing. To encourage goat farming, they were provided with useful materials such as feed tubs, water buckets, umbrellas, flashlights, and essential medicines.
The program was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Dr. M.S. Chauhan, who highlighted the importance of goat farming and urged farmers to adopt scientific methods for maximum benefit.
Present at the event were Dr. A.H. Ahmad, Dean of the Veterinary College, Dr. J.P. Jaiswal, Director of Communication, Colonel Sameer Bhatnagar, Dr. R.K. Sharma, Dr. Shiv Kumar, Dr. Brijesh Singh and Dr. Ripusudan Kumar. The program was conducted by Dr. Anil Kumar. Progressive farmers Mr. Shripal Rana and Mr. Suresh Rana from Sitarganj also participated. A booklet titled Pantja Goat Farming was released on this occasion.
