Rudrapur Senior Girls to Compete in Khelo India National Pencak Silat League

Rudrapur। Senior women athletes from Rudrapur, trained at Diwakar Sports and Fitness Academy, have departed to participate in the Khelo India National Pencak Silat League. The competition will be held on March 26 and 27, 2026, at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre, NEHU, Shillong, Meghalaya.

 

According to Bablu Diwakar, Secretary of the Pencak Silat Association Uttarakhand and Head Coach of the academy, the “Asmita Pencak Silat National League 2026” is being organized under the aegis of the Sports Authority of India, in collaboration with the Indian Pencak Silat Federation.

 

The prestigious event will witness participation from over 700 female athletes from across the country.

 

Representing Uttarakhand in the artistic (Regu) event are Pooja Mehar, Tanuja Bungla, and Sunita Bhatt. Tanuja Bungla will also compete in the solo creative event. Pooja Mehar will participate in the tunggal event as well as the -55 kg weight category in the fighting event.

 

Rahul, Treasurer of the Pencak Silat Association Uttarakhand, expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, stating that the athletes are well-prepared and are expected to bring laurels to the state, continuing last year’s success.

 

On the occasion of the team’s departure, officials of the association were present. Association President Keval Bharti extended his best wishes to the athletes and expressed hope for their outstanding performance.
