A grand felicitation ceremony was organised at Delhi Public School, Rudrapur, on Tuesday to honour Jasmeet Kaur Pahwa, who created history by securing the first rank in the Uttarakhand PCS-2024 examination conducted by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC).

The event was jointly organised by the Sikh Sangat and several social and religious organisations, who hailed her achievement as a matter of pride not only for her family but for the entire region and community.

Jasmeet had earlier cleared the PCS examination in 2021 and was selected as District Social Welfare Officer. By securing the top rank in PCS-2024, she has now earned selection to the coveted post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).

Speaking on the occasion, community leaders described her success as a shining example of hard work, discipline, determination and strong family values.

“Jasmeet’s achievement proves that dedication and focused preparation can turn dreams into reality. She is an inspiration for the youth of Uttarakhand, especially young girls aspiring to join public service,” said one of the speakers during the ceremony.

Representatives of Guru Nanak Sikh Samiti, Sikh Club, Khalsa Group, United Sikh Group, Ramdas Seva Samiti and Vyapar Mandal participated in the programme and felicitated the topper.

Several prominent citizens, including Sardar Surmukh Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh Kharbanda, Hari Singh, Pritpal Singh, Rajendra Sridhar, Surjit Singh Grover, Harman Singh Grover and Chetan Chauhan, extended their congratulations and best wishes.

The programme also highlighted Jasmeet’s remarkable academic journey—from becoming Uttarakhand topper in UCMAS (Abacus) in Class VIII to securing a perfect 10 CGPA in Class X, scoring 94.6 per cent in Class XII, and maintaining academic excellence during her studies at Khalsa College.

The ceremony concluded with participants congratulating Jasmeet and her parents, Sardar Jaswant Singh and Manpreet Kaur, while wishing her a distinguished and impactful career in public administration.
