In a thrilling final of the CBSE National Football Competition held at People’s Public School in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Amenity Public School, Rudrapur in Uttarakhand, claimed victory over Army Public School, Bengaluru, to win the Under-14 championship. The closely contested match ended with Amenity defeating Army Public School 2-1, securing the prestigious title.
Amenity’s Abhas Ganeshan was the star of the final, scoring two outstanding goals that sealed the win for his team. Army Public School’s Sarlamba managed to score one goal, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the formidable Rudrapur side.
The competition also recognized individual talents, with Abhas Ganeshan of Amenity Public School awarded the title of Best Striker, Vishan Singh from the same team named Best Defender, and Army Public School’s Soresh earning the Best Goalkeeper award.
The victory has once again brought Uttarakhand’s football into the national spotlight. “Our team is setting new milestones with every match,” said Mr. Subhash Arora, Chairman of Amenity Public School. “The children have given a new identity to Uttarakhand football, not only on the national stage but also at the international level. This victory is a result of their hard work and dedication.”
Lauding the efforts of the coaching staff, Mr. Arora credited coaches Amit Verma, Rizwan, Vivek, Rajendra, and Swapan for their relentless efforts in shaping the team. “This success is the result of their skillful guidance and the players’ commitment,” he added.
“Amenity Public School is proud of its balance between academics and sports,” said Mrs. Indra Tripathi, Principal of the school. “Our students are excelling both in the classroom and on the field. We are incredibly proud to welcome the team back after this fantastic achievement.”
She also highlighted the school’s academic success, noting that this year’s state toppers in Class 10 and 12 board exams were from Amenity Public School.
