Two brothers, in their twenties, riding a motorcycle were killed on Malaria Road in Bazpur of district Udham Singh Nagar on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 6:30 AM when a tractor-trolley collided with the bike, leaving both severely injured.
The victims, Mohammad Ilyas (28) and Farid Ahmed (23), residents of Ganeshpur village in Kelakhera, were en route to Sita Colony village in Bajpur. According to the police, the impact was so severe that the bike was extensively damaged. A damaged helmet was also recovered at the scene, indicating that at least one of the riders had been wearing it.
SSI Vinod Fartyal, who reached the spot with a police team, said, “The driver abandoned the tractor-trolley and fled the scene after the accident. Efforts are underway to apprehend him.”
The injured brothers were rushed to the civil hospital with the help of local residents. However, doctors declared them dead upon arrival.
Fartyal added, “The accident is being thoroughly investigated, and the driver will be arrested soon.”
