Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday inaugurated and dedicated 14 development projects worth Rs 39.51 crore during a grand event at Gandhi Park in Rudrapur, marking three years of his government’s tenure. As part of the event, he handed over keys to 15 beneficiaries in the vending zone and flagged off nine Jan Seva Prachar Raths to spread awareness about government schemes across the district. His arrival in Rudrapur was marked by a grand roadshow from Galla Mandi to Main Bazaar, where he was welcomed with flower showers, garlands, and enthusiastic slogans by citizens, public representatives, and various organizations.
During the program, CM Dhami laid the foundation stone for seven development projects worth Rs 2929.53 lakh and inaugurated seven others worth Rs 1021.89 lakh. Some of the major projects include the construction of a cowshed at a cost of Rs 494.89 lakh, the renovation of Bigwada crematorium in memory of martyr Virendra Singh Samanti (Rs 60.11 lakh), the beautification of five green parks (Rs 39.89 lakh), the construction of four hi-tech toilets (Rs 165.09 lakh), and the renovation of the vegetable market (Rs 49.72 lakh). Additionally, the event saw the inauguration of the district-level Development Authority office building (Rs 1801.93 lakh), a culvert at Kichha new bus stand (Rs 317.90 lakh), a vending zone (Rs 601.49 lakh), a waste plant (Rs 171.23 lakh), the installation of streetlights in the transit camp (Rs 34.15 lakh), the establishment of an ABC center (Rs 43.87 lakh), and an FSTP center (Rs 171.83 lakh). The Command Center and Swachhata App for Rudrapur Municipal Corporation were also launched.
CM Dhami took an active interest in the multipurpose camp, where he personally visited stalls, extracted butter by churning curd, and lauded the showcased works. He inaugurated the Rudrapur Vending Zone and Hans Sports Academy and even participated in a badminton match. Addressing the gathering, he paid tribute to the martyrs who fought for Uttarakhand’s statehood and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance for the state’s progress. He highlighted key government achievements, including the expansion of road networks and air connectivity under the Udaan Yojana and the implementation of over 30 policies in industries, tourism, AYUSH, and food processing. The government has also promoted self-employment schemes such as the Home Stay Scheme, Lakhpati Didi Scheme, and Solar Self-Employment Scheme while extending financial aid to over 8 lakh farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Uttarakhand has witnessed an 11.33% rise in per capita income, along with a 4.4% reduction in unemployment. Notable legal reforms introduced by the government include the Uniform Civil Code, anti-conversion law, anti-riot law, and the strictest anti-cheating law in the country.
The Chief Minister also shared updates on key projects in Udham Singh Nagar, including the establishment of a medical college in Rudrapur, an AIIMS Rishikesh satellite center in Kichha, and an international airport in Pantnagar. Infrastructure developments such as the Gadarpur bypass (Rs 170 crore), Khatima bypass (Rs 95 crore), and Rudrapur bypass (Rs 1152 crore) are progressing, along with new bus stations in Khatima and Kichha. Dhami reaffirmed his government’s commitment to preserving Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage and demographic integrity. In a significant announcement, he declared that the caste certificates of Bengali settlers will no longer mention ‘migrated from East Pakistan’ and granted them full ownership rights to their land.
The event concluded with the launch of the Jan Seva Rath initiative, which will run until March 30, reaching nine assembly constituencies to spread awareness about government schemes and benefits.
