Pantnagar, 13 September 2025. A delegation of seven students and three faculty members from the university will visit Saint Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine (SPSUVM), Russia, for internship training and academic exchange. This initiative is part of a collaborative effort under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SPSUVM and GBPUAT. The two-week visit is scheduled from 14 to 29 September 2025 and will include interactions with various departments, clinical facilities, and academic institutions such as Moscow University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, as well as visits to the Commercial Wings of the Indian Embassies in Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
The program aims to promote scientific and technical exchange in the field of modern veterinary science research along with cultural and religious exchange between the two universities. The delegation representing various departments of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pantnagar, includes postgraduate students Dr. Akshat Kumar (Department of Livestock Production Management), Dr. Shivangi Maurya (Department of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology), Dr. Rahul Negi (Department of Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Naveen Chandra (Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology), along with faculty representatives Dr. Shiv Kumar, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sharma, and Dr. Anil Yadav
During the visit, the delegation will also engage with officials at the Indian Embassies in Saint Petersburg and Moscow to strengthen bilateral academic and cultural ties. This academic visit is expected to significantly contribute to technological exchange and collaborative research in various fields of veterinary science.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan blessed the selected students and faculty members and highlighted the importance of such international experiential visits in promoting scientific collaboration. Director of International Affairs, Dr. H.J. Shiv Prasad, congratulated the delegates and encouraged students and faculty to focus on enhancing their advanced practical skills during this exchange program. Head of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Dr. A.H. Ahmed, also congratulated the delegation and wished them a successful visit. The visit is being coordinated by Associate Director of International Affairs and Associate Professor of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Dr. Anita Arya.
