G.B. Pant Agriculture University paid tribute to Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant on his 138th birth anniversary

Pantnagar, September 10, 2025. On the 138th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Uttarakhand, Shri Ganesh Joshi, paid floral tribute Pandit Pant by garlanding his statue at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Subsequently, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, along with university officials, faculty members and students paid floral tributes to Pandit Pant. In his address, Shri Ganesh Joshi stated that Pandit Pant was not only a freedom fighter but also a visionary politician. He said that Pandit Pant laid the foundation for significant work in the fields of education, agriculture, and rural development, thus guiding society in the right direction. He added that the ideals of Pandit Pant inspire us to work for the national interest. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan said that the name of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant is etched in golden letters in the history of Indian democracy and public service. He added that the establishment of Pantnagar Agricultural University reflects his vision. He appealed to the university community to adopt Pandit Pant’s ideals and play an active role in nation-building. He also urged everyone to contribute wholeheartedly and work as a team to take the university to greater heights. Following this, messages of the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. General (Retd.) Gurmit Singh, and the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami were read out by the deans of various colleges of the university.
