In a spectacle of opulence and tradition, the pre-wedding festivities for Anant Ambani, the youngest scion of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, commenced with the age-old practice of ‘anna seva’ in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The inaugural event unfolded in Jogwad village near the Reliance Township on Wednesday.

Mukesh Ambani, accompanied by his son Anant Ambani, fiancee Radhika Merchant, and other family members, personally partook in serving a sumptuous traditional Gujarati feast to the villagers. The ‘anna seva’ initiative aims to provide meals for approximately 51,000 local residents and will extend over the next few days.

In attendance were not only the Ambani family but also Radhika Merchant’s parents, Viren and Shaila Merchant, and her maternal grandmother, who actively participated in the community service.

Following the benevolent feast, the attendees were treated to a melodic extravaganza of traditional folk music, courtesy of popular Gujarati singer Kirtidan Gadhvi. His exceptional performance captivated the audience, adding another layer of cultural richness to the celebration.

True to the anticipation of a traditional and extravagant affair, the pre-wedding events are set to spotlight the splendor of Indian culture. Adding a touch of cultural authenticity, guests will receive traditional scarves meticulously crafted by women artisans from Kachchh and Lalpur in Gujarat.

A recent video shared on Reliance Foundation’s Instagram account showcased the intricate artistry behind the Bandhani scarves. The footage, featuring Nita Ambani, the founder, and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, showcased her personal interaction with the artisans, expressing her joy and appreciation for their diligent efforts.

“These women pour their hearts and souls into the craft, preserving age-old techniques and breathing life into stories as ancient as the land itself. Swadesh is empowering communities and preserving age-old craftsmanship,” said Nita Ambani, reflecting on the significance of the artisans’ contribution.

As the celebrations unfold, notable figures from across the globe have received invitations for the grand affair. Guests include Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Bhutan’s Queen Jetsun Pema, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, and Saudi Aramco chairperson Yasir Al Rumayyan.

The pre-wedding festivities are scheduled to span from March 1 to 3, promising a harmonious blend of tradition, culture, and global prominence.
