A press conference was held today in the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Hall of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar to brief print electronic media about the highlights of upcoming 118th All India Farmers’ Fair and Agro-Industrial Exhibition, scheduled to be held from October 10 to 13, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan.
At the outset, Director Communication Dr. J.P. Jaiswal welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and the representatives of print and electronic media present on this occasion. He expressed gratitude for the continued support of the media and sought their cooperation in ensuring the grand success of the fair.
Addressing the media, Dr. Chauhan conveyed that the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.) will inaugurate the 118th All India Farmers’ Fair on October 10th and the Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Uttarakhand, Shri Ganesh Joshi will grace the occasion as the Special Guest. The inaugural ceremony will be held in Gandhi Hall, followed by a visit of the dignitaries to the exhibition grounds. Dr. Chauhan further informed that this year’s fair will feature special attractions focusing on Smart and Digital Agriculture and Innovations for the enhanced income of the farmers amidst climate change and students will be educated by experts on Startups. These innovations led startups are expected to inspire students towards entrepreneurship and self-employment. Another major highlight will be Mushroom Tea, along with a display of various ‘Shri Anna’ products. The fair will also showcase new crop varieties developed by the university, agricultural machinery, livestock products, and processed food items.
Joint Director, Extension Education Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary stated that over 200 major exhibitors from across the country have already registered for participation, along with several small enterprises. The exhibition will include displays and sales of farm machinery, seeds, fertilizers, livestock, medicinal plants, handicrafts, solar energy equipment, and processed food products. He also mentioned that banks, research institutions, and government departments will disseminate information about their various schemes and achievements to farmers during the event. At the end of the press meet, Dr. Chaudhary extended a vote of thanks to all media representatives for their participation and support.
