To ensure free, fair, and peaceful polling during the second phase of the three-tier Panchayat elections, Inspector General (IG) of Kumaon Range, Ridhim Aggarwal, led an intensive, real-time monitoring drive across all polling districts on Monday. From the early hours of the day, the senior officer remained on high alert, personally overseeing the law-and-order situation and assessing ground realities through direct communication with officials on duty.
IG Aggarwal conducted rigorous monitoring by demanding hourly updates from all zonal and sector officers, district in-charges, and police forces deployed in the field. Her emphasis remained on accurate ground-level reporting, which enabled a real-time evaluation of various critical aspects such as law and order, security of women voters, presence at booths, crowd management, and emergency preparedness.
IG Ridhim Aggarwal said, “Our focus has been to ensure that every voter exercises their right without fear or intimidation. We are receiving updates every hour, and I am personally assessing the preparedness and any developing situations on the ground.”
The IG’s proactive approach underscored the administration’s commitment to maintaining a secure and neutral atmosphere for voters. Her presence and prompt coordination helped boost the morale of the security personnel and reassured the public of the administration’s readiness.
By staying constantly connected with district control rooms and field officers, the IG ensured that any signs of tension or mismanagement could be neutralized swiftly. Her leadership throughout the polling process reflected a clear message—security and transparency were non-negotiable priorities for the administration.
As the second phase concluded peacefully across the Kumaon region, election officials credited the seamless management of law enforcement to IG Aggarwal’s on-ground engagement and stringent supervision.
