Remembering Brent Hinds

Brent Hinds is primarily recognized for his contributions to Mastodon, a band he co- established in 2000 with bassist Troy Sanders, guitarist Bill Kelliher, and drummer Brann Dailor. After many years of success, including a Grammy award, Hinds departed from the band this year

Initially, he announced the separation in a friendly joint statement, but later claimed he was

removed from the group and criticized his former bandmates.

An Alabama native, Hinds originally played the banjo. Later, he traded it in for the electric guitar- heavy amp setup. He also lent vocals to several of Mastodon’s complex concept albums like ‘Leviathan’ and ‘Emperor of Sand.’

Though the artist is gone, his legacy will keep him alive in the memories of millions.
