Today, the university witnessed the live broadcast of the launch of the ‘Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Agriculture Scheme’ and the ‘Pulses Self-Reliance Mission’ by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Gandhi Hall. The Prime Minister announced an allocation of over ₹42,000 crore for these schemes. The Dhan-Dhanya Agriculture Scheme aims to promote extensive agricultural development in 100 low-productivity districts across the country. The scheme focuses on significantly increasing farmers’ incomes, ensuring irrigation facilities for every field, promoting crop diversification, and providing easy access to credit and storage infrastructure.

The Pulses Self-Reliance Mission will focus on increasing the production of major pulses such as arhar (tur), urad (black gram), and masoor (lentil). Under this mission, central agencies will purchase 100% of the registered farmers’ produce at minimum support prices, ensuring fair returns. The mission also aims to expand cultivation areas and improve productivity, marking a significant step toward self-reliance in pulse production.

The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, Registrar, Deans, Directors, faculty members, farmers and students were present in big strength on this occasion.
