GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar of district Udham Singh Nagar, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saint Petersburg University, Russia, to exchange expertise in veterinary science research and education. The MoU was signed on Friday during a visit by a four-member delegation from Pantnagar University, led by Vice Chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan.
The Rector of Saint Petersburg University, Dr Plemyashov Krisilvi, welcomed the Indian delegation and highlighted the research accomplishments of his institution. “This MoU will yield unprecedented results in education and research, especially in veterinary science,” said Dr Krisilvi.
Vice Chancellor Chauhan shared insights into Pantnagar University’s contributions to India’s Green Revolution and highlighted the institution’s key achievements in veterinary science. “Our research in animal cloning, gene characterization, vaccine production, and the ovum-pick-up technique will be strengthened by this collaboration,” he said.
Nirmesh Kumar, Consul and Head of Chancery of India in Saint Petersburg, also participated in the signing ceremony and assured full support for the success of the MoU. The Indian delegation included Dr HJ Shiva Prasad, Director of International Affairs, Dr KP Raverkar, Dean PGS, and Dr SC Tripathi, Head of the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education.
