Pantnagar. November 16, 2025. A two-day Alumni Meet was successfully organized on the occasion of the University Foundation Day Week. Former students from various batches participated enthusiastically in this event, with alumni from the 1972 Agriculture Batch being particularly noteworthy. The excitement of sharing memories, engaging in heartfelt conversations, and meeting old companions was evident throughout the program, making the entire event extremely memorable. The event was organized under the banner of the Alumni Alma Mater Advancement Association (4A). The dignitaries seated on the dais included the Chief Guest, University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, the Guest of Honour and Former Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. S. Bisht, Registrar Dr. Deepa Vinay, Dean Student Welfare Dr. A. S. Jeena, and Secretary, 4A, Dr. Anil Yadav.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan highlighted several significant achievements and milestones of the University. He announced that the Government of Belgium would provide ₹12 crore to the University for the cloning work of the indigenous Badri cow breed, which will mark a new chapter in the field of animal biotechnology and conservation of native breeds. He also stated that ICAR has sanctioned ₹7 crore to the University to strengthen its research, teaching, and extension systems. Referring to technological progress, the Vice-Chancellor mentioned that a Semiconductor Laboratory has been established at the University, which is a significant step for an agricultural university. Through this advanced laboratory, 16 students have secured high-level placements and internships, which is a testament to the students’ readiness and the University’s progressive academic direction. He added that the establishment of this laboratory has led to a notable increase in innovation, research culture, and motivation among teachers and researchers. Dr. Chauhan further informed that faculty members across various colleges are highly enthusiastic, resulting in a large number of project proposals being submitted and several high-value projects being received by the University. He emphasized that mechanization is essential for the future of agriculture and Pantnagar University is playing a leading role in developing advanced technology for farmers, increasing productivity, and modernizing agriculture. The Vice-Chancellor lauded the continuous support of the alumni, stating that the alumni are the University’s identity and strength, which makes Pantnagar renowned globally.

The Guest of Honour and Former Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. S. Bisht extended his best wishes to the University family on the Foundation Day. He appreciated the strong emotional bond between the alumni and the University and expressed delight at the global contribution of Pantnagar graduates. On this occasion, several prestigious scholarships and awards established by the alumni were presented to the students. These included the 4A Asha Kiran Scholarship, Dr. R. C. Chhibbar Award (for third-year students of the College of Agriculture), Pantnagar E-Connections All-Rounder Student Award, Bijay K. Singh ‘Go for the Gold’ Award, Prof. Gajendra Singh Best All-Rounder Student Award, Outstanding Alumnus Award, and the 1972 Batch Scholarship.

The program was conducted by Dr. Anil Yadav, Secretary 4A, who outlined the event’s structure. The vote of thanks was proposed by Salil Tiwari. The two-day Alumni Meet concluded successfully with sweet memories, feelings of reunion, and a collective resolve to advance the academic excellence, culture of innovation, and agricultural leadership of Pantnagar University. The event was attended by the University Deans, Directors, Faculty Members, former students of the University, and current students.
