At the ongoing All India Farmers’ Fair and Industrial Exhibition at the university, seeds of various Rabi crops from different university centers are being sold actively through their stalls. By noon on the second day of the fair, the Crop Research Center, Breeder Seed Production Center, University Farm, and ATIC had sold seeds worth approximately ₹71.5 lakh of various Rabi crops. In addition, the stalls of the Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Research Center, Ideal Flower Garden, Vegetable Research Center, Horticulture Research Center, and Agroforestry Research Center sold seeds and plants worth around ₹1.5 lakh. Publications worth approximately ₹12,000 were sold through the Publication Directorate and ATIC stalls. Furthermore, private sector stalls at the fair also sold various types of seeds and plants.
During the fair, farmers participated in the auction of crossbred calves at the educational livestock precinct. By noon on the second day, over 4,000 farmers had registered for the event, with an estimated additional 2,000 unregistered farmers visiting the fair. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, expressed happiness over the large turnout and farmers’ keen interest in the fair.
Under a special lecture series, detailed guidance was provided to farmers on ‘Animal Diseases and Their Management’ and ‘Latest Fruit Production Techniques for Income Growth’. At Gandhi Hall, farmers raised questions related to crops, flowers, horticulture, animal husbandry, and natural farming, which were answered by agricultural scientists. Farmers were also given tours of the Mushroom Research and Training Center, N.E.B. Crop Research Center, Ideal Floriculture Center, Vegetable Research Center, Medicinal Plant Research and Development Center, Agroforestry Research Center, Horticulture Research Center, Pattharchatta, Treat Center, Bee Research and Training Center, Educational Fish Farm and Hatchery at Nagla, Educational Dairy Farm and Fodder Bank, and Educational Poultry Farm at Nagla.
