A video of Kerala’s Tharakkal temple festival is going viral on social media, where two elephants clashed with each other. The incident occurred around 10:30 pm on Friday night. During the ‘Ammathiruvadi’ deity procession at the Tharakkal temple festival in Thrissur, two elephants went on a rampage, causing panic among the people present there.

The elephant’s mahout, Srikumar, narrowly escaped death as the elephant tried to attack him thrice. The incident caused panic among the devotees and many people attending the festival suffered injuries. People have also been injured in this elephant clash.

 

In the viral video, both elephants are seen attacking each other. However, both the elephants were later controlled by the elephant squad. This incident has come to light at a time when the issue of man-animal conflict remains a controversy in Kerala.

 

Let us tell you that nine people have died due to attack by wild animals in Kerala. Recently, a 62-year-old woman was attacked and killed by a wild elephant in a forest area near Athirappalli. In February, a 42-year-old man died after being attacked by a wild elephant that had wandered into a human settlement near Mananthavad.
