Two talented candidates associated with Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar have brought pride to the university by achieving remarkable success in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination.

Ms. Shambhavi Tiwari and Mr. Rahul Shekhar secured 46th and 75th Rank in UPSC examination 2025, respectively. Ms. Shambhavi is an alumnus of Pantnagar University who completed her B. Tech. in Electrical with Gold Medal in 2021. She is granddaughter of Dr R.P. Awasthi, Ex-Professor, Plant Pathology and D/o Mr. Sushil Kumar Tiwari and Mrs. Nivedita Awasthi. Mrs. Nivedita Awasthi D/o Dr. R.P. Awasthi is also an alumnus of GBPUAT who did her B.Sc. Home Science and M. Sc. Food and Nutrition.
In the same sequence, Mr. Rahul Shekhar S/o Dr. Birendra Prasad, Professor in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, secured All India Rank 75th in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. Mr. Rahul completed his early education from Sainik School, Ghorakhal (Nainital) and later obtained a B. Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. Earlier as well, he had performed excellently in several prestigious competitive examinations. In 2021, he secured All India Rank 3 in the Engineering Services (IES) Examination. In 2024, he secured Rank 44 in the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and Rank 242 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, through which he was allotted the IRS (Income Tax) cadre.
Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Manmohan Singh Chauhan congratulated Ms. Shambhavi Tiwari and Mr. Rahul Shekhar for their outstanding performance and told that their success is inspirational for the students of the university and demonstrates that the highest goals can be achieved through determination and continuous hard work.
