Rudrapur: In a significant push towards strengthening women-led entrepreneurship in Uttarakhand, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) has accelerated its outreach in the Kumaon region with the nomination of Sakshi Chhabra as the regional lead. Marking her appointment, a membership drive and orientation programme was conducted at hotel Radisson Blu in Rudrapur, drawing an encouraging response from aspiring women entrepreneurs.
Under Chhabra’s leadership, the initiative aimed at onboarding new members while introducing them to opportunities in skill development, business networking, and professional growth. Over 40 women participated in the session, reflecting a growing interest among women in the region to explore entrepreneurship and leadership roles.
Addressing the gathering, Sakshi Chhabra, a founding member of FLO Uttarakhand, said, “Our vision is to connect more women from Kumaon with this platform and enable them to transform their aspirations into achievements. With the right mentorship and ecosystem, women can lead change across sectors.”
FLO Uttarakhand Chairperson Tripti Behl talked about the organisation’s broader mission, stating, “FICCI FLO is not just a network but a movement that empowers women to become self-reliant and confident leaders. Expanding into Kumaon is a natural progression of our commitment to inclusive growth across Uttarakhand.”
The Uttarakhand chapter, established in 2018 by Shilpi Arora, has steadily grown into a vibrant platform fostering collaboration, learning, and enterprise among women. While women from the Garhwal region have been actively engaged since its inception, the recent outreach in Kumaon marks a strategic step towards balanced regional representation.
Participants described the initiative as a “gateway to new opportunities,” expressing optimism about future engagements. FLO officials indicated that similar programmes will soon be organised across other towns in Kumaon to further strengthen the network and promote women’s participation in business and innovation.
